• Golf - there are now some 5 major Championship Golf Courses on island including the beautiful and challenging courses at "Tsada" and

 

"Secret Valley" with other excellent local Clubs [including Dhekelia and Ayios Nikolaos / Vrysoules] with very, reasonable Charges and Ground Fees and the pleasure of being able to play all year round and more are planned for Larnaca District, all Clubs have thriving
Ladies sections as well.

• Scuba Diving - all forms from Beginners / Novices Open Water to Sports Diver -Divemasters and Instructor courses - Trimix and other specialist courses.One major Company we have close association with is "Dive In" a P.A.D.I. 5 Star Diving "excellence" Centre in Larnaca – close to the “Zenobia” wreck site - which can be seen from "Dive In's Offices.  As well as Recreational / Sports Diving - "Dive In" run courses at every level- including Instructor

They also operate major facilities [in Limassol] and are open for equipment hire ["Full or Cylinders & Weights"] and conducted dives - all year round.You might need a 5 ml full wet suit in the Winter [not in the Summer] and a "dry suit" is definitely NOT mandatory Visibility normally 40 metres +  so no “Buddy lines”. There is one of the best ship wreck dives in the world at Larnaca [close to the Fishing Harbour] the Ro Ro Ferry "Zenobia" - over 12,000 tons and 560 ft long, fully loaded with lorries and containers when she capsized in June 1980.  She still lies with cargo 40 metres to the bottom and propellors and 18 metres to the ships rail - organized dives are available every day of the week mostly 365 days a year Contact Chris Demetriou "Dive In" Larnaca - for further information

Winter Sports - Cyprus is an island of contrast the Troodos mountains are over 3,000 metres above sea level reached in just over the hour and where in Winter all forms of Winter Sports are available and equipment hire.

It may not be Aviemore or Zermatt - but there are 4 Ski Lifts and Novice runs to the "Black" North Face run. The best times are usual late Jan and especially last 2 weeks in February for the best snowfalls.

Clay Shooting a very popular sport with tremendous facilities supported by the Government SKOK organization.Every City - including Larnaca and Paralimni have modern facilities with fully automatic electronic / coin operated or voice actuated traps and every discipline to shoot and practice - with no "local council" noise abatement 'lobby' problems or restrictions - disciplines include

• English Sporting
• ISU & English Skeet
• Trap & “Balltrap”
• DTL
• Double Rise  
• FITASC. 

It is very easy for you to bring your shotguns with you. Many Iternational Competitions are held here - from European 'Trap' and FITASC and especially at the purpose built "Latsia" [nr Nicosia]  International Sporting Ground - which provides all disciplines  with coin operated traps - so you can shoot and practice on your own or with a group.

There are many Local Cartridge makers including the world famous local "Victory" G L Calipers and Olympia brands. All world names of Browning - Berretta and Perazzi guns can also be purchased and serviced here in very relaxed security conditions.Gun Licences are issued on application there is no “mandatory" Police inspection visit or ‘armoured’ Gun safe requirement. Automatic weapnos are not permitted - no pistols and Air Rifle’s are limited to .177 only.

There is also an 'interesting' local Hunting Season for Partridge and Hares during the Autumn/Winter time, in free and clearly designated Hunting Areas where birds are reared and released and anyone paying for his hunting licence may go.
