One of the most amazing aspects of the Caribbean region is its diversity. Every island is unique, with contrasting landscapes, ecosystems, ethnicities, and foods. Because every island has something different to offer, travelers are sure to find an island in the Caribbean to suit their taste.Whether you seek steamy, tropical rain forests; still, glassy lagoons; or wind and waves, you can easily find weather in the Caribbean to suit your taste. The Caribbean is an extraordinary blend of carefree living and modern convenience. Despite its laid back charm, the region boasts all the technological comforts of home such as cellular phone service, automated teller machines (ATMs), premium medical facilities, and express mail service.
The Bahamas are located just 50 miles from the coast of Florida. This group of 700 islands is awash with tropical palm trees, pristine white sandy beaches drenched in sunlight, and multi-coloured coral reefs. Gently cooled by the occasional sea breeze, the Bahamas are a firm favourite on the international tourist trail for the selective and well-heeled traveller in search of rest and relaxation in lush surroundings.
The Dominican Republic – a US-style democracy – covers two-thirds of the island, the remaining third being French-speaking Haiti. In recent years, this island has become the top Caribbean destination. International investment in high quality development of villas, beachside apartments, marinas, high quality golf courses and excellent sporting facilities are all under way to cater for the increased interest in the island.
